Melton Borough Council - Wilton Terrace (retrofit)
Challenge
A common walked footpath at Wilton Terrace was having issues with their existing lights not working. The cost of renewing the infrastructure made it non-viable leaving the footpath in the evening dark and feeling unsafe. They wanted to use their existing columns so wanted to find a product that could work with their current columns.
Solution
Solar Vision were asked for a solution and due to our very versatile product we were able to offer a retrofit solution using the existing column. After a site inspection and a review of the column to ensure that it was still fit for purpose, we were able to retro fit our solar wrap to the column and place the battery in the light head. The columns were retrofitted with in a day with little to no inconvenience to the footpath users.
Outcome
Using the existing columns and our flexible product we were able to restore good lights to the footpath, providing not just a well-lit walkway but also a feeling of safety to all that used the path.
